Send them down a league
(I actually feel it'll be slightly harsh to punish a team so severely that probably has totally new people running the club now - but fuck 'em)

Technically the club that undertook those mis deeds in 68 was a differnt club to the one now.....which is Bristol City 1982 Ltd.

The previous club was wound up and this new one started, so no chance of a retrospective punishment.

Would have been funny, but incredibly harsh and unjust for them to now move down

Probably would have got away with a 2500k fine and a slap on the wrist. Their name doesn't contain the word Swindon remember

yep, just found this...

Quote
During the summer of 1994, Tottenham was found guilty of making illegal payments to players and handed out the most severe punishment in English football: 12 league points deducted for the 1994-95 Premier League season, 1-year ban from F.A Cup and £600,000 fine. Alan Sugar protested against the punishment, saying that the people involved with the wrong-doings were no longer at the club. The F.A Cup ban and points deduction were both eventually quashed.

"illegal payments to players" - same as what we were done for? and how was a 12 point deduction 'the most severe punishment in English football', we got demoted for fucks sake!

and surely brian hillier and 'the people involved with the wrong-doings' at swindon had left the club when it was found out, same as spurs.

we got shit on!
