Did they choose FC United of Manchester because FCUM sounds a bit like Fuck'em?

Sounds like fun, anyway.

They were loving the 15 yrs of fame and domination brought about by the sucessful floating of the club, but the risk of being a PLC is that anyone can buy them.  As for not liking how the club is run, very few fans really like how their club is run, ie Villa and Doug Ellis, but if you support the club you support them no matter what whilst they still are there, I think Franchise however are no longer Wimbledon, Man utd fans could complain if they relocated to leafy surrey, not that many of them would it would make it easier to get to games.

The "most Utd fans live in southern England" point is getting boring.  You should see it up in Scotland there are Celtic and Rangers shirts everywhere, but that's life, seems like most of the population don't mind being arm chair fans - sad really.

Erm, actually yes, apparently that was precisely the reason. And fair play to them - find it a bit difficult having been brought up hating Man U, but obviously well into the idea of what they've done with FCUM - giving the game back to the fans. And they've done a bloody good job of it too. More power to their elbows (or wherever)
