One thing pissed me off more than anything.
It wasn't 5 minutes. It was very nearly 8 minutes that we played with 10 men. Fucking amateurs.
We could have played another hours extra time last night and would not have scored.
Dire night made worse by Smith mostly likely being out for the rest of the season

I was fuming, no excuse as to why it took the ball going out 5 times until we made the subs. Even if it’s Lewis Ward just get 11 fucking men on!

Yep. I'm surprised it's been barely mentioned by anyone, including Holloway

Not seen anything like that before except when we were checking the injured player to see if they could continue.

Smith was obviously serious about 20 seconds after he went down.

It looked likeb kirkman was coming on, then they changed it. Not sure if kirkman was ready pre smith injury.

Very bizarre

I suggested that maybe the player they wanted to bring on was having a shit  Smiley

I'm pretty sure they were going to bring Kirkman (I think it was him) on with Kilkenny and changed their minds to make the tripple sub they did instead, still doesn't excuse the fact Kilkenny was ready to go and was waiting around to get on.

It is only a small amount of time in the grand scheme of things but it could reasonably be argued it's where we lost the game.

Did Smith run into the keeper looking at it again looks like he didn’t need to go in like he did

All these minute, sometimes not noticeable ‘amateur’ moments from last night added up and lost us the game, of the management take 8 minutes almost 10% of the game to sort their subs out and leaves us with 10, you ponder the influence that has on the players, the standards are set from the top down

The challenge was pointless, except Smith was probably trying to instill some urgency into his fellow players.  I think the ref was itching to give him a second yellow after giving him and his assistant a royal bollocking for not awarding the Town an obvious Town throw-in.  So if he had clattered the goalie, without injury to himself, he might have been sent for the early bath.

I saw another amusing comment from one of our fans blaming it on the ref for not blowing his whistle before Smith clattered the keeper. Interesting take….

One thing Im noticing not just in our games but in Prem and other matches (currently have the other STFC losing to Notts on in the background) is that refs seems to have decided grappling is fair enough.  They seems to be just ignore it most of the time.  I don't know if this is policy this year.

For the first 20 minutes, it was one way traffic with the neat triangles and attacking play, Drinan should have scored at least once.

After that Barnet just battled through it, got a foot in the game and just turned the screw slowly.

Smith going off injured then completely fucked us. Princewell barely got involved and Drinan just isn’t a sole central striker kind of player and we struggled as the game went on.

Reading through all the comments, it baffles me how Wright hasn’t been mentioned. The guy is an utter liability and jogs around like he’s a boss but he never tracks his man and constantly caught out of position but just jogs back, no commitment or desire. Even Razor Ruddock in his fattest of days would have run faster than Wright. First goal was his head, 2nd goal was his man he allowed to sprint beyond him. Criminal defending.

If the rumours of Smith’s injury is true, going to be interesting if Holloway will adapt as per others comments here. Should at least be given a chance to adapt.. I think we have the players for a playoff run without Smith but it will depend the mentality of the team that turns up.

Get your popcorn and strap yourself in. The next chapter has truly begun and it’s going to be a classic Swindon Town story no doubt 🤣
