2-1 QPR

From a mistake in midfield. That let 6 QPR players break through!

Left wing back then curled it into the top corner

Liking the look of Alston and Gonzalez. Not liking the sound of Holloway, despite his enthusiasm

I think it was McCormick with a thudering header from a corner, which went wide

Two attacking subs for Town

3-1 QPR

Freekick from the right, crossed in and strong header which Myers  batted out. QPR player whacked it into the back of the net.

Shame!

We have done very well, but they are quick and classy up top.

Rolled the dice and sacrificed a strong midfield to put more up top. Unfortunately, QPR took advantage.

We played really well and put them under lots of pressure. But they have been clinical on the break.

Only saw it the once but it looked a clear penalty at 1-2.  Breaks all went to QPR - who looked good at times and down the rhs.  Young lads were unlucky and looked good with the passing in transition - as well as in closing down and with the longer ball.

That was tough on the youngsters, did not deserve that on overall play but QPR more clinical with their finishing. If some of our  players can now make the step up over the next few months it would be good to see.

Just watched it back - I've seen them given for less, but I'm not 100% sure it was a penalty. But, had it been given and we'd scored, it could have been a very different outcome!

Happier in some ways if we haven't in fact been robbed blind.  Left to rue some missed half chances.  The overall performance was very pleasing indeed. I felt we were losing our defensive shape as the game progressed after 1-1, understandably when we had to chase again from 1-2.  I would certainly give QPR some credit.  They seemed less pro active than us but they also transitioned well and above all converted.

U18s have been a cause for pride once again.

Good effort, hopefully will stop too many scouts circling. Liked the look of Harry Chard, which made me think about when we last had a genuinely excellent left back. Quite a long time I think!

I think that they put so much energy into the upfield press, that they were knackered! Also, I think QPR were just trying to hold on to the 1-0 lead and then became more fluid and energetic in attack once we equalised. They had a perieod of 5-10 mins after we scored where they were able to win midfield battles and get in behind our defence (down our right as our RB was still playing upfield).

I think we were all endeavour and effort and they had pace and quality up top. Ameen and Obodo were very wasteful up top in comparison.

Both are obviously talented and can improve, but that pretty much describes the difference between a football league player and someone who will make it at the very top level
