Perfection is not attainable

« on: Monday, December 2, 2024, 10:26:34 »

Another big game, hopefully we arent too tired after 120 mins and pens on Saturday.

A draw would be good.

Colchester have kept 2 clean sheets in a row and only 1 defeat in the last 6 DLDDWD.

Town have only beaten then 2 times in the last 11 meetings and 3 wins in the last 20 meetings, Town havent won away ay Colchester in the last 7 games between us.

As we know Colchester have several ties with Swindon on the playing staff with Jack Payne, Ellis Iandolo, Mandela Egbo and Rob Hunt in their squad.

To state the obvious, they win they are eight points ahead. We aren't into "must win", but it sure feels like a must not lose even if mathematically that's rubbish.

I think we are in must win territory now.
Only picking up 1 point from Accrington & Morecambe was not good enough.
A draw would obviously give us a return of 2 points from the run of Accrington, Morecambe & Colchester. That simply isn’t good enough either. That’s relegation form against the teams in & around you.

I’d even argue a win giving us 4 points from those 3 games isn’t even adequate

I’ve cut the team & Holloway some slack because he’s still getting his feet under the table. We need to be past that stage now.

I’ll go as far as to say; if we don’t win this game we are down.

The bookies would seem to agree with you, when things started to look shitty I put a wager on our relegation, as my betting record is abysmal I often do this to try and encourage and alternative outcome, looking at it the morning the cash out they are offering me is already higher than the stake I placed.....

We're fucked I think.

Hard to argue against that in isolation.

My biggest worry, again obvious, is that the gap to lower mid table is sizeable. There are teams we can pull into this battle but we must stop losing ground in the next few games.

We need someone above us to fall apart like we did last season!

We are in last season territory of needing two teams to be worse than us, unfortunately I don’t think (currently) there are any

I have a feeling this is going to be another of those games where we come unstuck in the last minute. Either a highly frustrating 1-0 or a 2-1 defeat.

They're all must win now. Any wins we get is doing to be massive.

Christ! That was a difficult listen.

What did we learn from it? Bignot is 50!

Also, it’s a bit odd that he infers he hasn’t been there long. Well, he has! He was part of the poor first part of the season!
