Perfection is not attainable

« on: Friday, October 25, 2024, 11:58:59 »

Well tomorrow starts a new era for Swindon Town with the appointment today of Ian Holloway.

Will it be good? will it be bad? will it stay the same?

We will soon see.

Our recent record vs Jillies has been nothing short of abysmal.

1 win in the last 15 meetings since 2012, 7 draws and 6 defeats.

Theor fans recont hey will bring around the 1,000 mark for their "cup final" game.

They currently sit in 11th place on 19 points, a full 8 points above us with 6 wins and 6 defeats from 13 games.

They come into the game on the back of 5 consecutive defeats.

But we can't say what we've seen
And we're not little children
And we know what we want
And the future is certain
Give us time to work it out

Rocking up with indifference.

I will be disappointed if the players dont want to put in a good shift to try and set out their personal stalls for the new Manager.

Just looking to get the basics right, per Bodin in a Radio Wilts commentary.  Also, wanting to win, unlike on tuesday night when too many players couldn't be arsed, would be a positive.

The players' endeavour and attitude are most key, with it being probably too early for major changes in tactics and formations etc.

Honestly, who knows at this point. I thought Morris, Flynn and Kennedy were all interesting appointments and I was wrong on all of those. Perhaps the one appointment I think is fucking batshit will work out fine.

I have however changed my prediction league entry to be 5-0 Gills.

You know what - I don’t really care about the results.

I would just like to see something different. Be that the formation or different players (McGurk) involved more…

Just something, anything to show that all the shit selections / formations / tactics were Kennedy’s and we can actually move on from them…

The fear is we set up exactly the same with exactly the same players doing exactly the same things which will naturally bring exactly the same results & show that it isn’t really the manager picking the team / formation / tactics

Agree with this post, funny how many players are suddenly available per the presser now that there is a change in manager.

Expect a high scoring match - and something like a 5-2 defeat

Let’s keep a collective eye out for this guy at the game tomorrow: https://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/news/grimsby-news/who-alex-may-convicted-fraudster-4807632.amp

Alex May is the guy with a fraud conviction that Holloway was apparently very close to at Grimsby.

I’m adding two and two and getting 104 here, but I just hope that the Holloway appointment is to do with his previous experience of working with Bignot, and his SW location, and not because this guy is about the join the Swindon Town Boardroom Fraud Squad.
