Pre match eat football, drink football, talk shite in The Paramount.

Not seen much of Salford itself in the previous 4 visits, but the fleeting glimpses through grimy condensation covered bus windows gave no reason to distrust the sentiments of Ewan MacColl.

“I'm gonna make me a good sharp axe.
Shining steel tempered in the fire.
I'll chop you down like an old tree.

Dirty old town.
Dirty old town.”
A classic.

The bogey team scenario continues this evening when it’s our turn to try and maintain a hoodoo over Salford at their place.
No reason why we can’t.

With “Robbo” in the opposition dugout, hopefully it won’t be too torrid an affair for the hardy souls in the away end & watching from afar.

Last minute losses no longer hurt.
Sad isn’t it.

12 games in & not much to suggest that the personal expectation of a season of struggle was wide of the mark.

So, the head coach.
I would retain his services in a daring football experiment to give a manager time.
Three windows & let’s see where it takes us.

Maybe a good sense of basic human decency & protective nurturing can eventually be translated into winning football matches.
Without time & patience the two qualities are probably not compatible.

But beware, managers who talk bollocks are quickly picked up on by fans.

However, to be fair, Kennedy’s post match musings for the club after the initial BBC efforts always come across as more relatable & better thought out.

Having said that I’ll await the inevitable like everyone else but will take zero pleasure from it & then hope for an ever decreasing marginal gain from whoever takes over.

It’s probably the whole operation that requires scrutiny starting with the Head of Football.

Anyway, a game tonight, can Kennedy conjure a performance that is as simple & effective as a classic Lowry painting or will it be about as productive as a drunken Irish navvy in clogs on icy cobbles.

Oh yeah, and pretending to myself that I no longer care isn’t going to work.
Sad, isn’t it.

My name is Wobbly Bob, I’m 60 years old and I am an addict.

I just hope our boys don't crumble with nerves at having to play the mighty Salford and we are able to walk away with a point against such a big club.

A big, big club.....we have no chance. A whopping 2 points ahead of us with a game in hand, hopefully Kenny will rest our top players (?) as it's pointless risking them tonight. I suspect Salford will put out their 3rd team.

Their estate agent of a manager annoys me. Hopefully this is early enough in the season for the pitch to not be mostly sawdust. That's all.

The go-to nearest their ground is usually Friendship Inn, M25 0PD. But it's a 20 minute walk.

But you can also just find somewhere in the City Centre and get an uber to the ground for around a tenner.

We're at the stage now where our manager is such a dickhead everything that comes out of his mouth is a fucking meme.

Hopefully we lose and he's sacked in favour of someone who can at least steer us to safety until the criminals leave.
