Big match this. You can tell by the lack of a matchday thread.

Some mildly interesting remarks coming out the press conference

We have an identity. Yay

We dictate to Gavin, he has come in to play our way and we signed him because we wanted him in a certain style. We profile footballing sixes, if we wanted to go long the whole time then we wouldn't have signed him. It is a marriage that should be convenient for us both.

There are a couple of things, the first reason is that this is a possession-based club and I feel very privileged to be here as I have only ever coached and played that way. At my previous club, what we had wasn't really that and we became a very good counter-pressing game. What I am capable of and what I want to do aren't always the same thing. We were able to identify and bring in more technical players. It is what the club demands and also what I would want to do. We have played a couple of teams who played in front of our strikers.

Offy Off? Must have had a falling out.

Quote
Mark Kennedy on Ofoborh:

I wouldn't say it is a complicated answer but a lot is about physicality. He has had a real health scare and not played a lot of football for his age. We have a lot of high level midfielders and he really needs to play football. Physically it is important that he gets that and it is difficult to do at our club. Yes [we might loan him out], he is a valued member of the squad but if he wants to go out on loan we would support that and if he wants to fight for it here then we would have him with open arms and he goes straight in when someone else is out. If I was him, I would like at my options of getting the most football.

Awakawe-away?
Quote
That is a question for Jamie. I had a conversation with him, he has been a pleasure to work with him, about how difficult it would be for him to get minutes. The conversation will be about where he can get those.
...
He is not currently with the first team as I can't give him what he needs but he is still training with the club as we have a duty of care.

Depressingly, this is a gimmie for pals at Barrow .

2-0 to them.

a defensive gaff will lead to one of their goals.

He's going out on loan most likely.

Also manager has said that he's not bothered when the first win comes

I'm taking it to mean he's not in a panic and can sleep at night. Its a results business. I'm sure he actually wants to win every game.

What a load of bollocks that is about Ofoborh. Since joining last year he has been available for every single game and to use the healthscare as a reason AFTER  we offered him a deal is a joke.

They really talk to us like we are idiots don't they. Just say it how it is, we have signed more fullbacks and midfielders so can't really afford to keep players like Khan,Ofoborh or Uwakwe so need them off the wage bill

Here is a novel idea, keep them not sign shite and we would have a much better bench

This is exactly the context he meant it in, he said it last week before Crewe too but explained it better then.
