Barrow's excellent attacking mid, Ben Whitfield has signed for Burton. We were linked with him a season or so ago

Notts County sign 26 year old Sunderland goalkeeper Alex Bass for an undisclosed fee.
Grimsby Town sign 23 year old left back Matty Carson from Reading on a free.

I don't.
His stats look OK, but goals tended to come in fits and starts. Also cost us the playoff semi, and I'm not talking about his penalty.
If we were genuinely goin go for promotion he wasn't good enough. Given where we are I'd have him in this team.

Cost us the semi? The whole team didn’t show up. There’s not way I’m putting blame on one player. Loved his link up play with Barry and Mckirdy. Wish him all the best. But you’re right Batch I think he would have been a better bet than Austin last season

I think he did well for us and his stats prove that. Probably over-excelled because he had some good players around him, but let's not forget he was only 22 when he played for us!

Missed a sitter in the 1st leg at home, would have put us 3-1 up

He did over excel for us, only got 4 league goals last season in 36 games. For me it was more about the numerous chances he missed rather than the ones he took. Like a taller slower RHM, doesn't have a natural finishers brain. He will get a half decent lower league career I am sure but doubt he will play higher than L1.

Is Davison the best you can get in this division? No
He does work very hard, occupies central defenders and in that formation really allowed Barry/McKirdy to cause havoc on the wing, and score plenty of goals.
The attacking unit is more important than an individual in my opinion.
