I doubt it will be played at Ashton Gate

Why wouldn't it?

Most of the Bristol City academy games are at their training centre, I guess because Ashton Gate is shared with the rugby and the pitch can only take so much.

Ah ok. I assumed as all the previous games, Luton (Kenilworth Road), Man U (home at the CG) and Sunderland (SOL) were at the first team stadia.

I checked and their game with Burnley is indeed at the training centre. It would be a bit rubbish for the youths to play there if Bristol City win.

The draw was done before the Sunderland game. Can’t think a change of venue would be allowed.

Is there any capacity for fans at their training ground?

I think the venue must be related to category of ground, as Man City youths haven’t been playing at the Etihad either

To be fair, Man City have their own Academy Stadium which holds 7000 so no need to use the Etihad. Bristol City's training centre has a capacity of 500 so they may move the game for commercial reasons. Shame if they don't.

Add in the fact it’s local enough that you’ll probably get a few travelling fans. You know 74 year old grandad Roger probably hasn’t got it in him to travel up to Sunderland to watch his grandson play but an hour down the road? That’s do-able for him and Uncle Jack after he finishes work & their mates who have school the next day!

All about protecting their pitch I reckon. If they did use Ashton Gate they’d probably get 5000+ - would that be worth it for them?
