We were supposed to be going out with friends tonight. We’re not sadly, illness. Wondering if anyone has a recommendation of somewhere rural or maybe 20 mile radius of Swindon to eat. Logfire, rustic olde worlde type place ideal. Do 100% want good food. No where in Swindon grabs me TBH. looking to go this afternoon. Rather than evening.

Unsure if it’s what you’re looking for but the Royal in Wootton Bassett was fantastic when we went, think it had the fireplace sort of setting

Been there. It is nice there, something a bit more rural though.

A little outside the 20 mile radius but The Golden Heart Inn at Birdlip might tick the other boxes.

God, how many times have I driven by there? They’ll be busier now the Air Balloon has gone.

La Strada Broad Hinton is often forgotten about and reasonably priced too. Was lovely when I went NYE.

The Old Crown in Faringdon has a fire and does food in the bar or in a fancy restaurant setting
