Pre match not quite ready to put shovel up the tender, as they used to say in these parts, in Albert's Corner.

Even the music stopped when I walked in.
Asked for Strongbow got John Smiths so a promising start to the day.
Much better hydration outlets to come later.

To be fair it's not a bad away day.
Station next door to the ground, making for a quick getaway, is always handy.
Although the quick getaway could morph into stopping everywhere in Shropshire.

So, 11th visit here & now joint 3rd in career frequency along with Colchester & Oxford. Nice.

A win against promotion contenders having a good season could...no, no, don't go there.
We won't go down this season although some seem drawn to the idea like moths to a flame.

For the rest of the season I am mostly hoping that Austin can make it to 50 league goals for the club. Would be the first since SSP I think.

Anyway, doubt that we'll be grinning like Cheshire cats at full time more likely hump shunted further down the road of indifference.

Do hope that at least some building blocks are in place for next season come end of January.

2-0 Crewe. Could be more, but I think they’ll be so comfortable that they take it easy.

Play off charge starts today.

Crewe 1-3 Swindon.

You need to be a bit mad to support this club hence the prediction.

A typical (this season) Swindon defeat.

We'll go a goal up, and then manage to capitulate & lose by conceding a late goal or two.

It's come to my attention (I read the club Tweet) that Gresty Road is now called the 'Mornflake Stadium' which is one of the best-worst stadium names I've seen. I'm now imagining a stadium entirely filled with organic cornflakes.
My 2 favourite names for stadiums is the Poundland Bescot stadium at Walsall and the Wham stadium at Accrington.

Anyone else have a memory of Andrew Fitton stood on the pitch pre match once claiming Swindon would never sell naming rights to the stadium 😂

As we did under McMahon vs Swansea and Hull in the Championship winning side of 96.

We were strolling around passing the ball with about 80%+ possession and could score goals at will against 2 dreadful sides who were relegated that season(along with Brighton too), we just did a professional job and didnt need to step out of 1st gear to beat both those sides 3-0 at the CG.

Sometimes you just don't need to press harder if you have a game wrapped up early on.

To be fair when we have it's always been the Company A County Ground, rather than losing the whole CG bit, which is much better in my view. Think Fitton was naming the DRS at the time which has also kept its name.

Apparently the ref for todays game has dished out 65 yellows and 3 red cards in his last 15 games. Sounds ominous.

Yes see you there pal!I agree this is a shocker. “Flake” is one of those words that’s just got unpleasant connotations a bit like “crust” and similar words. Wouldn’t be overly happy to have those words as an addendum to the County Ground name.
