Feels like a loss right now. I'm a bit gutted really. Hopefully tomorrow I'll see it as a good 3 points.

3 points, would have taken 1 before kick-off.

It turns out we didn't have the most embarrassing injury time in the football league tonight

Back at my Hotel in Burnley and i cant quite believe at what just happened.

WTF!?  Cleared off the line in dying seconds to clinch a win when being 4 zip up on gone 90!

FFS! Why do we do this.

I walked out in a daze...felt like a defeat! Smiley

Thats the best i had seen us play up to that point.

Crazy crazy game....i can at least say i was there!

Two wins on the spin in games i would of taken a point before the kick offs.....

Yay! But fuck me are we flawed...

We like to make it as uncomfortable as possible don’t we? Feel a bit deflated with the ending. Need to watch the goals back; not sure if the goals at the end were the youngsters’ fault but the timing did coincide with them coming on. Minturn did well bar one clanger when he held onto it too long. Mahoney had a very solid performance apart from an injury time rush of blood to the head which I will need to see again. Nice to see Chaz score again from open play. Dokes didn’t have his best game for us and got exposed a few times. Khan can sleep well in the knowledge he has just added to his price tag with a beautiful goal. Very entertaining game if you were a neutral (but I’m clearly not) and Accrington look a decent side. A 4-0 lead would definitely have flattered us but still bitterly disappointing that we seem to capitulate when holding on to a lead, no matter how big. Opposition sides will realise this is a major Achilles heel of ours. We could do with some sports psychology input.

I mean, they had taken well over 20 shots, our GK was going to be the man of the match and saved a penalty, but I guess that isn't seeing it coming.  Also, not letting something happen again when it has happened again and again.......

Need some context with this surely just incase people think we got battered. I remember seeing the shot count at half time and thinking to myself if you hadn't of watched the game you would think we were lucky to be ahead. Accrington were the definition of shoot on site and mostly 30+ yards.

We know we have weaknesses at the back and that more than once this season a flurry of goals have happened within minutes of each other. Notts county, Wrexham and aldershot. That is naivity that needs to be resolved.

A brilliant win all things considered and 90 minutes of a well deserved win. 👏

I was also quite impressed with Kinsella and Kokolo who look to be improving with regular game time.

The only good thing about occasionally working in obscure northern outposts is you get to see a few bizarre Town games, tonight will certainly go down as one of the strangest.

The first 90 was typical of many games this season, a massive threat going forwards and a massive threat to ourselves defensively with the standard mix of incompetent match officials thrown in. Luckily our forward players were on form and there’s weren’t and that led to a relatively comfortable scoreline. In hindsight the penalty save was crucial, if we’d capitulated any earlier we’d have probably lost that.

Everything post 90 minutes though was beyond farcical. We know this lot are mentally weak and fragile, we saw it last season and same again this season. You literally can’t take any risks as they are capable of folding like a deck of cards. If the game had lasted another 5 minutes we’d have lost that, I’ve never been to a game where we’ve had such a big lead with such a short time left and felt we were lucky to hold on.

Ultimately this is why we won’t get any success with this group of players and come January if we lose Kemp, Young and anyone else it doesn’t bear thinking about.

I’m getting massive Taylor Curran vibes with Sonny Hart, he should be nowhere near getting on the pitch currently.

On a final note, again without wishing to go all boardroom, the 2 free drinks was a nice touch, makes a change to see somewhere that actually cares about supporters rather than just claiming they do.

Now to warm up…

Just on the Sonny Hart convo, isn't he highly rated? I had my first view of him in the league trophy came and was very impressed.

He may well be, but he’s nowhere near ready to be on the pitch currently. Whilst the senior pros need to look in the mirror, he was a rabbit in the headlights.

I will certainly take the win!

They had a one on one that Mahoney did well to save, they had a saved penalty and a shot cleared off the line, so a good case for six.  My point is that Accrington scoring was certainly not beyond any realm of possibility.  To claim it was out of the blue is just silly, Flynn is just trying to focus on the final 9 miinutes by saying so.  I'd hope that he thinks very differently in private.

They definitely deserved a couple of goals. I don't think they should have had that pen though, really hard to see.

I did actually joke when austin scored that not even swindon could lose this now.

Flynn will be raging but happy with the points I'm sure

Baffling how anyone is seeing it as a loss, we won away from home for the 2nd time this season against a team who has recently beaten Wrexham and Notts County at home. The late goals take the gloss off a bit but we were excellent for 92 mins and definitely value for the win.
