Erodes the squads confidence though Mex, a 4-0 win would have done wonders. Now its just doubt again.

Minturn seems to be turning into more of the same, did a lot of overplaying on the ball in that game. FBT did more of the punting it clear second half.
I am not suggesting that I think Minturn is a good defender, not yet, he is developing, but he does seem to like most of the things a defender has to do. Punting it isn't really where I think the issue lies. It's the grunt and grind stuff - watching runs, scanning, tugging at a players shirt to keep them close, blocking, organising each other into a good shape and so on. Brewitt is a bit Minturn like - both like the one on one stuff of defending, but neither are much kop at the other stuff I mentioned. They at least can handle the one one though I guess. If we had won that 4-2, I bet you every single one of the back five/three would have thought they had a good game. They should be angry that they conceded one, let alone three and nearly six of seven.

we nearly prime Swindon'd it there. We were fucking lucky to be 4-0 up - well the 0 part was lucky.
So nearly made the Wrexham disaster look pedestrian.
humph.
But it's a win and a chance to recharge the batteries

Every time we go deep we CAN NOT DEFEND
why not just keep the high line? we invite pressure and can't deal with any balls into the box.

Hutton has basically got two assists at both ends, which is quite the eventful game!

I think Hutton’s attacking output outweighs his defensive liabilities, but not clearing the ball at 4-2 was fucking criminal. How on earth is he so naive defensively?

Hold on everyone, we've spoken before about giving the youngsters a chance, when 4-0 up on 90 minutes is the time to do it so don't blame Flynn, everyone switched off and thought they had it won.
Hahahaha fucking Swindon , couldn't make it up
Give em a chance, yes but don't change the key players on the night, Minturn and McEachran. Took the wrong ones off for me mate

Which is why I think Hutton should shoulder a lot of the "blame" - he was fucking abysmal. The issue, in my book, about giving the youngster a go, at any point, is that the entire team are youngsters!

Fuck it, bet no one predicted 6 points from Mansfield and Accrington this time last week. Enjoy it.

End of the day, three points is three points, but a 4-0, or even 4-1 win would’ve done their confidence the world of good. That shit at the end just massively takes the gloss off what was for the majority, a very good away showing

He isn't interested in it, is my guess. To do any of it requires mental effort from him, so it's easy to go to sleep every so often. Now, if it's getting a cross in, I bet his mind is right on it. The sort of player that probably selects crossing from the optional post training session list, not man marking or shepherding, or headed clearances.

As I said, close your eyes and cross your fingers. This is precisely how the start of the season was going - take the smooth with the rough, each is just as likely. It's a better watch than Flitcroft's season, but it's the same sort of approach. Shit players aside from a few up top - hope to score more than you concede. Our approach play is easier on the eyes this way though.
