I’d like to see Hubbard start. Looked good when I saw him in pre season.
Technically he’s the best in the current U18’s just his size perhaps will be an issue for him - hopefully not.

All too often down the years we have technically gifted players that are way too small or lightweight to achieve anything in the game, there needs to be a balance. Many time dating back even to the 70s and 80s we had really talented small built players who on the ball looked world beaters but put them into a mans side and they looked awful up against any form of physicality. Thats why Minturn is special, a well build, strong physical youngster who can play a bit as well.

I read this about six times as "reminds me a bit of Pericard" and was fucking baffled. Thanks eyes. As for small, good footballers out of youth academy, I was always sad Chris Allen didn't make it.

Obodo has a very good physique for a 16 year old & he'll continue to grow. Flynn seems to rate him, which hasn't always been the case with some of our managers when it came to young prospects.
The key for rated youngsters between 16 - 20 is attitude & staying injury free. Jordan Young fell foul of the latter. I worry for Kanu's future prospects but hope he has the strength of will to come back stronger.
One youngster that I had very high hopes for, but whose name escapes me, DIV will remember. Scored loads for the youth team, made his debut in brightly coloured boots & got stick from the TE for not chasing down & that was it. Attitude & mental strength possibly the failing that led to a career in non league. Remembered! Lloyd Macklin.
A few that slipped through the net & were let go & then went on to play in the league. Denny Mundee springs to mind.
With the pressure for results on the pitch most clubs won't have the time or patience to give their youngsters a chance unless they really standout, at which point they'll end up in one of the human warehouses higher up the league.

I have a few mates in the Monks Retreat saying it could well kick off, about 100 Swindon fans in there at the moment.

The warning signs were there a few weeks ago with many old school saying they were going and were getting in the pubs early afternoon.

4 of my "old school" mates left on the train for Reading at about 10.30 this morning for a day drinking pre game.

If we were in the same league this would definitely become a tasty derby again!
