All credit to Flynn, Hatswell and the boys. Everyone has contributed at some point this season already. Cain a great example today. If you'd said we would be unbeaten by October I'd have pulled out a breathalyser.

PAY KEMP!
Absolutely. Also Minturn who made a couple of great clearances at the end

Worth adding that Mahoney comes up with a big save almost every game.
Or 2, made 2 great saves last week and this week, admittedly he didnt know a lot about the 2nd one which hit his chest but his positioning earned him that save.

very hard fought 3 points.

a football classic it wasn't. But frankly this is league 2 and you just need to do whatever it takes to win. which we did. just.

Yep, we "ground one out" and I'm thankful we can do that

Interesting that Flynn fancies Shade at LWB off the bench. I thought Genesini was very good there against FGR and that would free Shade up to be a physical presence off the bench up top to give Chaz a rest, as much as he is crucial defensively at set pieces. That said, Flynn watches them every day and clearly knows what he is doing!

Flynn (Sorry, had some family stuff to do so a little late):
- Team stuck together
- Wasnt a good second half, but we have played better and thrown points away
- We dug in and made blocks
- Pleasing win as you cant win everything with total football
- Could have been more clinical
- It was a definite penalty
- Grimbsy threw everything at us.
- Pleasing win
- Great move for second goal. As was the first
- Cain's finish is as good as you'll ever see
- Pleased with the way that Cain kept the ball moving. We need to get some more physicality into him
- Dokes and Hutton were unplayable today. They have a great understanding. Decision making was good too. Dont know how teams can defend against them when they are at it
- Unbelievable save. Their keeper made one from Shade too
- Bit of a relief when the FT whistle went
- Started sloppy 2nd half. Got control and scored then had a second chance. Then we were apprehensive, bordering on panic stations
- A bit frantic which played into their hand. They put the pressure on
- McEachran was ill this morning. Didnt want to risk him or spread it within the group
- Cain has put pressure on McEaschran. Kinsella is also fit now. Toss up between Cain or Kinsella. Thought Cain would move the ball quicker
- A lot of games coming up with Sat and Tues fixtures. Will mix it up for Reading game.

3 points that is all that matters.

Think we would all take that point Tuesday now.

Think Grimsby deserved a point, tbh. But there again we’ve won a point when we deserved all 3.

No doubt Luke Warm’s lot will take a bit of beating.

Enjoy that, was nice to see us throw bodies infront of shots etc.

Uwakwe isn’t very good is he?

He certainly wasn't today. Looked off the pace from the get go.

Don't see why we can't get 3 on Tuesday. They've just shipped 8 in two games. However one will do nicely!

He can cross a ball. I'm not convinced he's a wing back who can defend, but I trust Flynn to improve him with time.

Looking back at his season at Crewe he was pitched into every position Iandolo style, so maybe a run in one position will help - https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tariq-uwakwe/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/396854/plus//saison/2022/wettbewerb/GB4/verein/1042

had the same conversation earlier today! Then we remembered Hutton is similar, better version on the right!

it's working ok at the moment though. so I'll worry when that stops

I think Uwakwe looks good when we are flying but he doesn't seem to like a physical battle and they seemed to be targeting him.

If Clayton was around you'd maybe slot him into LCB and push Frazer out there if that happens again. As it is, we have to make do!
