I slightly conspiratorially assumed that someone at our end was told to nix the deals for Morris on the sly as we couldn’t afford them.

conspiratorially

Word of the day, congrats

Provided we actually can reinvest the Wakeling money.

Do you spend the Wakeling money now on a couple of free agents or do you risk waiting until January with more targets available?

Sorry not read back so this might be a repeat but I've heard that the fee for Wakeling was either 200k or 350k. From the sources I heard, it's probably more likely to be the lower amount.

I think given the squad numbers I think we probably need to get 2 in the door quickly, that elusive CB we've apparently been chasing and a forward to take the pressure off of Charlie, who apparently is looking tired from what i've been reading. Given Edwards still hasn't signed for anyone, I imagine his wage demands haven't budged and so we might need to use some of the Wakeling money to get that deal done - assuming it's him we are trying to sign. As for the forward, there are plenty of free agents out there but the longer it's left the longer it takes to get up to speed for match sharpness.

I see that Flynn said we missed out on a L1 player who went elsewhere on deadline day.

I took a look through the deals that matched and if you exclude the young CB's that moved, I would say it was either Declan John LWB went from Bolton to Salford or Ellis Harrison FW Port Vale to MK.

Norwich City centre-back Jonathan Tomkinson has completed a season-long loan move to League Two Bradford City.

The Canaries were made to wait for confirmation of the deal from the EFL after submitting paperwork late on deadline day, but the relevant authorities have now approved the move.

Wrexham sign aged striker Steven Fletcher
He may be 36 but he still scored 10 goals in 39 games last season at Dundee United in the Jocks Prem.

Not in the Scottish premier, he has never scored higher than the Scottish Championship. And TBF Fletcher has scored 45 English Premier League goals too in his long career as well as 10 for Scotlands national team.

I'd quite like a Steven Fletcher if such a player is cool with starting from the bench 80% of the time, if we had that option off of the bench we'd have beaten Wrexham, forgetting the free kick that wasn't.  Target man to get it up the pitch to, extra height to defend late set plays just aimed at the penalty spot.

I'd even entertain an absolute carthorse who will only ever get on for the last 15 if he's fit for purpose in that role.

Looks like the much touted Jesse Debrah will rock up at Port Vile.
