I’ve notice there is Starlink equipment available for short term rental - e.g. camping or anywhere a bit remote where you need reliable broadband. £300 deposit for the kit then anywhere between £25-30 per day fir the rental.

Anyone ever tried it?

Not tried te kit and don't know anyone who has.

As someone interested in astronomy and astrophotography, I have a major degree of antithapy towards Starlink due to the effect the thousands of satellites they have launched have on my hobby.

That’s what I’ve seen. The longer the rental the less per day it is.

A friend bought all the kit for his house as he lives in a very old thick walled cottage in the arse end of nowhere. Said when it works it’s great, blindingly fast, but when it doesnt it’s utter pants! He was spending all his trying to reboot and connect to it as it kept dropping out.
