I think Halifax are still due compensation according to an article I read which stated -

"Debrah's contract at Halifax expired at the end of June, which means Barnsley will not have to negotiate a transfer fee with the non-league club.

However, as he's under the age of 24, the Shaymen will be due some compensation but that is likely to be a nominal, five-figure fee."

It does seem to be a long, drawn out process. I wonder if his agent is playing silly buggers.

Are tribunals known for awarding high compensation figures? It can’t be that much for a non league player.

Barring the injuries, he was a more than capable defender

Isn’t the compensation usually linked to the contract length & wages being offered.

It used to be yes, hence we had the issue with Colin Calderwoods £32,500 compensation to Mansfield which got us into the original financial problems from the FA, we said we were paying CC a lot less than we actually were by way of hidden bonuses etc.

No idea if its still the same though. It seems to be based upon years at the selling club with development fees etc as well as contract offered by the selling club and the one by the buying club etc with many add ons.

Crawley sign 26 year old defender Will Wright from Gillingham.

Colchester defender Frankie Terry goes out on loan to Chelmesford.

Stockport let new signing from Hull - Billy Chadwick go out on loan at Gateshead for the season. Weird considering he only signed 2 weeks ago on a 1 year contract with Stockport.

Wrexham have had a £300k bid for an unnamed striker turned down by the selling club. Phil Parkinson ironically stating "The market has become inflated but everyone's finding that".

Yes PP mostly because every club knows you have almost bottomless pit of money and you have ruined it for every other team in L2 too.

Harrogate have turned down 3 bids for big lump striker Luke Armstrong from 3 also unnamed clubs one in Scotland, 1 in L1 and one in L2, Harrogates manager stating "the club will only consider letting Armstrong go in return for a “significant” sum of money".
