What a night that was.
I remember the pub near the ground before the game was rocking.
The other odd thing was that the Town fans in the seats were at the other end from the terrace if I remember correctly.
Obviously the Tranmere fans after the game, so much different than those wankers from Brighton & Port Vale.

Absolutely. When it was announced near the end of the game (with us ahead on aggregate) that the Tranny fans would be allowed on the pitch, I feared the worst but needn't have worried.... Little did I know that I would end up after the game, singing 'Tranmere, Tranmere, Tranmere' along with the rest of the Town fans... a unique occasion which will never be forgotten by anyone who was there... |

Not only that, I'm sure that away goals counted in the semis, which is why Gillingham beat Sunderland, but they didn't count in the Final, hence why we went to a third game having drawn 2-2 with Gills having scored an away goal (which you are referring to of course) Just going to check on that now to make sure I'm talking complete bollocks... |

Gills 3 Sunderland 2
Sunderland 4 Gills 3
Gills through on away goals... a rule which was abandoned for the Final.... bizarre... not complaining though...
