Disappointing one. Really poor for 40 minutes or so but lots more positives thereafter, enough to get a few candidates together for the poll at least.

Khan by a country mile, Hutton did well but contributed to the conceding of the 2nd goal with a poor pass and may have done better with the first goal on the line. The rest, average at best.

Saidou Khan feels like the archetypal "shines on a bad team day" kind of player with his running and work rate, but he's my vote today. Other brighter sparks - Hutton was our best attacking threat and gave their (stunningly unbooked) left back a really tough day, but was a bit of a liability defensively. Darcy was alright, but shot too often from poor positions. Not sure there are too many others in credit.

It’s funny how differently we can see things because I thought Khan had probably his worst game.
Easily brushed off the ball and falling over at minimal contact.

I said to my friend at the game that this game increased Reed’s stock because of how poor our midfield were

It’s interesting in these how those of us viewing from, ahem ‘overseas’ seem to see things differently from those in the stands.

Hutton. Purely on effort and persistence if not actual effectiveness

Not sure I could pick one. Hutton tried hard, ran past defenders, but didn't deliver too much. Maybe could have done better for the first goal and his poor pass to Gladwin set them up for the second.  Khan seemed to be overrun and bullied to me - That was maybe because he got no help from anyone else in midfield. Their midfield was quicker to the ball and he didn't always get the rub of the green when trying to buy freekicks. The effort  energy was there, but not much you can do on your own. On the negative side, he did lose his man for the second goal.

Didn't notice at the time but have a look at Khan for their second goal. He was initially tracking the goalscorer but then gave up on him. Had he carried on tracking he may have been able to stop that goal. Blame clearly on Hutton for giving the ball away in a poor area but to me it looked like Khan might have made more effort. Very harsh take mind.

No mention on how Jephcott has performed recent games, surely he must be match fit by now but noticed he was taken off after 73 minutes.

He wasn’t, Wakeling went off then.

Jephcott stayed on for the whole game, he had little or no service

Cheers Posh Red, I thought I read it was Jephcott who went off and even Haaland would struggle to score with little or no service.
