Back to winning ways against a fairly limited side. Feel like this one could be a fairly split vote, considering "their keeper" isn't eligible.

I'm going for Clayton - like I said in the matchday thread, I was a bit worried for him in this game without his regular partner and against some experienced and powerful forwards. Barely missed a beat, unfussy competent defender. Hope to see a lot more of him.

Otherwise, could see Hutton, Brynn, Darcy, Gladwin and Williams all getting decent reviews from that one.

Darcy for me.  He was a little livewire in the second half and the shots he was taking seemed pre-meditated, especially based on how he celebrated the goal.  He is not as good as Payne was on the ball, but he uses his energy more effectively rather than being pulled around the pitch like an 8 year old.  He does appear to have sucked all the lifeforce out of Iandolo though, who would easily get a part in The Walking Dead right now.

Nemo absolutely right to pick out Clayton.

More a player of the season imo.

Actual MOM tonight between Hutton and Darcy for me.

I've voted but couldn't justify separating them.

A few candidates; Darcy, Clayton, Williams, but I went for Hutton, who had a solid game, and right at the end (again!) prevented a goal with a clearance from the line.

Darcy for me, best game I've seen him have in a town shirt.

With 5 minutes left it was between Gladwin and Hutton for MOM.

When against 5 at the back it's all about the width and trying to get in down the sides. Hutton had some unbelievable crosses all game and caused havoc.

Gladwin made everything good tick. Oozes class on the ball with minimal effort.

The goal line clearance at the end edged it for me with Hutton.

Darcy had a good game and some brilliant long range shots. One of which ultimately got us the goal we deserved

Gladwin bossed the first half and everything went through him.

Second half, others came into the game more, particularly Darcy and Hutton but Gladwin still had the game under control so he gets my vote.

Satisfyingly however, there wasn’t a duff performance in a Town shirt tonight.

MOM for the half time game was our starting keeper.

Gladwin the best player on the pitch.
Head and shoulders above everyone else. Defensively and in attack outstanding.
Darcy, Hutton, Clayton all good. Williams slow start but got better.

Just upping the tempo at start of 2nd half & peppering the Newport goal proved decisive in the end.

Shots & crosses eh, a rarity from some recent Town outfits, not with this one. More of the same please.

Lots of good solid 7 & 8's today.

Reed was the man last season.
This time it's the no 7, our own version of the Big Easy.

Several worthy candidates, but I went for Hutton for his overall impact on the game.

Gladwin for me as he was excellent all game, Hutton, Darcy, Clayton all excellent. Darcy really found his feet 2nd half as did Williams.

For once Brynn was a bit flappy (nowhere near the level of the attrocious Newport keeper though) and not his usual confident self but still kept another clean sheet (his 5th of the season).

Newport were very poor and although Bogle was a menace he and his big mate Evans too they were no threat at all really to us.
