I wouldnt mind seeing them both play but on todays showing Reed is really slowing the game down constantly and I would rather see a straight swap Khan for Reed in the 2nd half to liven it up in midfield.

Funny you’d pick out Darcy when it’s Williams who’s been quiet on the left.

Interesting half. Real clash of styles, thought we might properly overwhelm them early on when they looked frightened of the ball but they've grown into the game as we've put ourselves into a few tight spots. Shame to be missing MacDonald, he'd be really useful against this attack. We're crossing and shooting a lot earlier than normal - possibly scouting told us their keeper was a bit dodgy.
Not a walkover, but a winnable game. Need to go and do it in the second half.

Newport are shit. Offered nothing except from frenchies faux Pas.
and yet ..
while we are passing it around well, it's kind of in safe mode. Nice to see a couple of longer shots being taken but we haven't really had much clear cut to shout about
based on this half the three points are there for the taking

If this is a ploy to talk Darcy into a well deserved goal then

Happy to be proved wrong but does anyone think Hutton's curling, loopy crosses are pretty ineffectual.
He's having a good game but I'd think we need a big brute to be getting a first touch on the crosses and with a Wakeling close at hand for the fallout.
Similarly, I'm pretty disappointed with Jephcott's impact on our attack.
Not a criticism of either player, more a concern for how we are looking to complete our attacks.

For me,Hutton our best that half. Clayton looking assured at the back. Gladwin pick of the midfield. Newport's Lewis on the right looks decent. Front 3 a bit toothless so far.

Hutton has a great cross on him for a Peter Thorne type of player. Nobody in our team looks likely to be a threat regularly from his crossing. Jephcott looks likely to thrive more on whipped low balls or pullbacks.

As I've said a few times now, he'd be brilliant for a team with big fuckers up top. Still think he's looking alright for us at the moment, maybe needs to cross lower.

I'm normally a fan of Reed but he is slowing us down. I've been watching him closely and about 80% of his passes are backwards and those that are forward are not always accurate. Darcy has not been in the game.
Stat padder. I bet his number of passes made & completion percentage are wank worthy…to some…
