I'm not even sure what a "double pivot" is!

Don't think it's excel related. (apologies!)

As I it understand the lad from Banbury was not full time so will more or less have to do a full pre-season too get up to speed, perhaps 10 mins at the end IF we are comfortable or losing heavily

You don't play Gladwin anywhere near the defence, suicide.  I like the look of the team, but can't see Lindsey being wiling to drop Gladwin (or Williams) for Darcy.  If he's not willing to do that I would put Darcy in for Shade, i get the feeling he will have an impact on the game wherever you put him in the midfield.

That 442 I’d go Williams on the right. Shade on the left. Khan in the middle with Darcy.

Anyone else not convinced Darcy is as good as a number of people on here think he is?

He has a little sparkle to work with - it may not become a flame, but he needs to be given a chance and nobody is standing in his way performance wise.

He might not but from limited viewing he at least wants to get the ball and drive forward with it. Something Payne bought to us last season that none of other midfielders do.

Midfield has also been pretty crap so far this season, what’s the worst that could happen if we do put Darcy in?

We're shit, but so are they. Will get seriously toxic if we don't win this one and our wins are like the UB40 song, one in ten.

He certainly looks to have the ability but not being played in his natural midfield role consistently has not helped. Want him to really come good.

Jonny Williams preferred position is through the middle.
Notwithstanding Saturday surely bringing him alongside Wakeling could have been a game changer when Gills went down to 10.
At least he was prepared to side step a few Defenders.
