would a return to attendances of 5-6k affect the finances that much?
Well, they sure wouldn’t help.

The early sending off didn't help us according to SL.

It was …..  on paper.

It isn't, it really isn't.  It's average for this division, lacking in many areas though.  No pace, no width, no central presence in the forward line or midfield.  We have also made Reed pointless with our recruitment and style (what little there is).  It's not a bad squad, it's just mid tabley.

I actually think it was more to do with our inexperience in the boardroom and around the club in general.  I don't think anyone knew what to do.
Absolutely this. They thought they had a bit in the bank and got it right last smmer and have been proved wrong. It happens, how they deal with it now is the key bit for me.

Totally disagree with this, the style and formations have made us look this way but a better manager has us sat in the play offs at the moment

That’s because a lot of people still believe Reed is a good midfielder who wasn’t completely carried by Jack Payne driving us forward…

I know you don't like him, but he had a purpose last season.  It works when everyone else has the legs to do the running and create the space for his passing and play as a sort of QB.  Just stood in the pocket pushing the ball about.

He is everything you say this season though - no legs in the team at all.  Gladwin and Williams together create slow football.  Shade is a plodder, Khan not right for what Reed would give you.  Essentially, everything that is stopping Reed from playing higher up the food chain is now on display.  You have to build around him or not have him at all.

Don’t think a better manager would have this team as high as the play offs
A better manager *might* have recruited better in the summer though.

Obviously different opinions on players and that’s fine.
Don’t feel Reed played the ball like a QB midfielder at all last season. He got it from Conroy and moved it sideways till Payne or McKirdy got it and ran forward.
Also felt teams left him free because if he was open - we’d always pass to him rather than go forward. Even felt at times he stifled us.

as i understand it, the owner has to keep on eye on the spending and finances to make sure that we live within our means and survive. it looks like this might mean hanging around in league 2 for quite a while but isn't having a club the main thing.  If the books are balanced and a few quid can be made from player sales and property deals, every one must be happy.

With the right manager you should be able to get more out of those players with Barrow & Stevenage good examples for a comparison.
