A pity that there doesn't appear to be any footage of the home game from 78-79 available.
That was before segregation on the Stratton Bank, but most of their lot were at the end of the Shrivvy Road with a fair few sprinkled across the bank. Nasty & very mouthy fans from what I remember.

I was at that game the day after Boxing day in 86, we took about 2,000 there. I have a 50% win rate at Priestfield after going there for the play off when we lost the same season.
Jills were 3rd and we were 7th and we won 3-1.
I have never been on the recieving end of so much crowd violence, abuse and trouble as that day, they were throwing bricks, glass bottles and washers (Pikeys couldnt afford coins) with their edges filed sharp at us from outside and inside the ground all game, they really hated us back then and I have no love lost for them too. That was the celery game when the Police confiscated about a truck load of celery from Town fans prior to KO.
Horrible set of fans and a horrible place to visit.
All because of the great Ray McHale in 79 (in front of a huge crowd), another of the most the most hate filled games I have ever witnessed on and off the pitch.
We owe them a thrashing.
I would probably go for this line up.
Brynn Lavinier MacDonald Clayton Blake-Tracy Reed Khan Darcy Wakeling Jephcott Williams
Providing Lavinier is fit enough to start otherwise Brennan or Hutton at RB.
I like this line up. Don't really understand why some would leave out Williams after his overwhelming vote as MOM last week. Just one thing,is Reed a shoe in on this season's performances so far?

Two new signings will and should start, 99% certain that will be it, Jephcott and Lavinier.

There have been 100 games between us and the Pikeys so far, we have won 36, Jills 34 and 30 have ended drawn. We have scored 141 times and they have scored 131 times.
Fairly well matched for so many games. Although we have only beaten them once in the last 11 meetings and we havent won there in the last 10 visits.

For me we look weaker going forwards without Williams, Darcy is on a bit of a run of form but looks far better in midfield. Jephcott is a certain started unless he is not fully fit. Reed started terrible but has grown into his old self again in the last 3 games so probably has to start.

I think that will be the line up except for Gladwin to start in place of Darcy

Probably Gladwin in front of Darcy I agree, but personally I would like to see Darcy start.

Snap. My only trip to the Gills. I can confirm it’s a shithole and I did want to come home.

I agree put Darcy in. Gladwin is like watching someone move in mud. He does some nice things but is a liability when he can’t get back in the midfield.

No disrespect to Gladwin but I’d to see us play a couple of matches without him just to see if makes us play a bit quicker, he still slows things down too much for me.
