Donkey (of this parish, not a slight on our current manager) had some views on the potential efficacy of a 2-3-5 formation when we used to play at Worldnet. I don't think those ever leaked into the professional game. |

2-3-5 is what we used to play at school in the 60s. |

Not since Herbert Chapman, I think. I maintain there is something to be said for 325 (with defensive mids), and just get it forward at every opportunity. Only do it for about 15 mins though...or if you blast in to a 3-0 lead before then. It'll freak the other side out (for a short period of time). |

Perhaps Lindsey is trying to address the problem of teams focusing on Reed thereby blocking out the main passing route in playing out from the back. Playing Darcy might give another option here.

Yes,agree with that. The complete inability of Reed to provide the link between defence and attack is one of the main reasons we've struggled in my opinion. That,and utter shite defending! |
