I may have missed discussion of this or may have fallen asleep when it was mentioned (I am 51 and it is warm at the moment) but I did just force myself to read through this article about the Crawley NFT funding revolution.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62136553

As mentioned I am old so don't involve myself in crypto and NFT's.  Fuck know if it can work.  Maybe the younger amongst us can explain how it's going to succeed / fail.

Who knows if it will succeed or fail.

Essentially they sold stuff to people on line and brought in £3m that they otherwise would not have had.

There are two football clubs in Bedford. Bedford Town who got promoted to tier 7 last season (Southern League Central, one below Conference South); and "Real Bedford", they were Bedford FC but changed their name recently. I believe they currently play in Tier 10 but could be wrong.

A couple of stories below regarding "Real Bedford", the one on the BBC in January said how he had already raised £750K in sponsorship.

I'll be amazed if he achieves his aim of League Football, but only time will tell. I certainly haven't seen the so-called £750K spent on anything of note.

This is based on Bitcoin which i know nothing about.

All not well at Crawley - they've just announced the sale of Tom Nicholls to Gillingham and at least one member of their first team squad has replied on Twitter with incredulity.

Also they did that hilariously bad corner routine that was going round yesterday

The sale of Nichols was arranged prior to the game vs Swindon hence him not even being on the bench. All the first team have apparently been put "up for sale" as well, not surprised when the rumours there are saying Telford (an average player at best) is on excess of £5k per week, they have vastly exceeded their managable budget it seems.

Buying the league only works if you sign good players and can support the wages for the entire season at least! no sympathy.

We couldn't get near his wages there, and his injury would hamper that hugely.

Good point about wages and he's certainly been unlucky with injuries throughout his career.

This is how Bury eventually died.   Blew their budget in th first 6 months and then couldn't pay wages.   That was allegedly a deliberate act of sabotage to speed up its demise but this is probably/hopefully naive or incompetent.

Agreed and too injury prone now to justify a contract.
