I agree with you for what's its worth. Not trialists or signings to indicate a real go at automatic promotion so far.

Sorry but how often do you have a high calibre Trialist who is an absolute must sign?

They're trialists for a reason. If they had any sort of pedigree they wouldn't have to *Trial* they'd just be offered a contract.

Yes and I'm not denying there's potential in them. A lot will have talent and come from a good background.

But you only end up on trial if you aren't the finished article and know you may struggle to be taken by an EFL club. So quite why anybody is expecting some trialists to be recognisable top end league 2 players blows my mind.
