Stats suggest it's a very even game

Possession Home 50% Away 50%
Shots Home 3 Away 3
Shots on Target Home 1 Away 0
Corners Home 3 Away 2
Fouls Home 4 Away 4
It is pretty even, its a good game TBH Newport probably edged it on quality chances created.

Stats aren't showing what I'm seeing.

Newport have spent more time in our penalty area, that's for sure. Just one shot on target though.

Must admit I didn't think Newport had anywhere near as much possession as we have had, they are very much a counter attacking side.

I hate to sound like a broken record but Gilbert needs subbing and get Williams on 2nd half.

I think the game plan today was
0-0 at HT
Come out 2nd half more attacking
60 mins introduce Williams
70 mins introduce JML
Win 2-0

First box ticked..

Newport shook us out of our game for a long spell of that half. We haven't really found our passes as well since, and have turned to playing more speculatively. Surprised to see Iandolo staying so deep when Akin's looked very solid behind him, meaning we've offered nothing down the left.

Funny enough, the Newport commentary just said the same about us.

Not much in it. Both teams have been pretty solid in defence - insomuch as tracking back and recovering as a team from individual mistakes.

Don't think Newport have really threatened. They have been quicker at moving the ball in the attacking 1/3. But, they haven't had any real chances.

We have played it around the park nicely. KKH has dived and dribbled. Gilbert has moved from left to right but not had much pact. Payne and Reed have been combative in protecting the defence.

In defence, Odimayo have covered mistakes by Iandolo and Conroy (twice).

Two saves by Wollacott.

Quick first half which is always a good sign.

I would agree, a good counter attacking team with some quality.
