Same shit.
Keeper, three CBs. Wing back each side. Striker.
4 random midfielders who’ll play where ever in the middle with no set structure

Might work. Might not.

Isn’t it the same formation that has served us well away from home this season?
But we’ve just played a home game where our absence of a midfield was found out, if Reed was caught out of position literally no one covered and it was just easy for Bradford to get close to our goal. Surely whether home or away it needs to be addressed and still think having a defensive midfielder to offer some solidity would help us going forward as well.

Disagree - clearly how we are set up is working well away from home.

If this was a home game I’d agree, we need to change how we set up, but we’ve got the best away record in the league with this formation and set up - we would be mad to change that.

Got to have something to moan about before the game even kicks off.

Nice to hear Rob Hartley back on the wireless😀
He was on for the Plymouth game only 2 weeks ago or so, this is his 1st league game so far this season though.

Do they randomly choose their co presenters as it seems strange that he was on the radio for the whole of last season then disappeared.

Home and away aren’t mutually exclusive though, we ultimately need a system that works at both. I still think having a more defensive midfielder in there would be more of a help than a hindrance. Eventually teams are going to twig and start playing at home like teams do at the CG.

Reed is the more aware of where he should play in the defensive position but I agree about the other 2 roaming midfielders who just play where they feel like playing, sometimes it works, often it doesn't, when it works its great when it doesn't its painful.

Yeah obviously Reed has a bit more positional awareness/structure/discipline to his role/position or whatever you want to call it but Williams, Gladwin and McKirdy will not have any.

That lack of balance/structure has in some games left teams bamboozled and worked wonders and other games it’s allowed teams to cut through us like a hot knife through butter.

He stupidly changed it on Saturday.
We've been solid with a back 3 with Conroy playing as the spare man.

I'm surprised Simpson wasn't rested as he's looked knackered and inefective the last couple of weeks.  Hopefully a free Tuesday has given him chance to recover.
