Simpson cross for a Payne header tells you we’ve lost a bit of shape.

Difficult to call a MotM for me, Simspon would have got it easily if his header went in, but Reed and Critchlow hardly put a foot wrong all game. Wollacott as well did well again.
Far better 2nd half than 1st half too, controlled the game even if we were a bit powder puff in front of goal.

Insipid...Now there is a good word.
Didn't look like breaking Colchester down or scoring today.

Reed edges it for me.. Simpson worked his balls off though

Yeah Critchlow did really against Nouble who is a massive handful, who he kept quiet all game. I can't call it between Critch and Reed, if only Simpsons header went in then he would easily have been the top man today, he grows better with every game.

Agree it was difficult to call as noone excelled. Of the ones you mentioned, Wollacott took a few too many chances at the back and was nearly caught out twice. Critchlow's distribution was awful at times, but defended stoutly. Reeds final ball was not good. Defensively he was good.

It feels like we're getting there. Lack of a real cutting edge is the obvious weakness, but not much we can do about that until January.
