I picked up the bass at 39. Love it.  And it is the coolest instrument, so there's that.

I've always thought that if I ever took up an instrument it would be the bass guitar.

Perhaps the result of too much Neds.

When you can find your way around the fretboard a little bit Nothing Else Matters by Metallica is a good one to try. Pretty simple but sounds great

Sailing the seas of cheese is a brilliant album. American Life is a great bass line, plus another of those that’s easy to learn but sounds class as fuck
