Here we go, a new era  Pint
I've got nothing to base a prediction on except that we are playing catch up.

Be happy with a draw, but I'll predict a 2-0 defeat.

Take anything that's not embarrassing, a point would be gold

I am not expecting much for a few months but a good battling performance will be good enough for me ! 2-0 loss with 880 from the Town in attendance.

Be ecstatic with a point; happy with a decent performance. Trying to manage my expectations this season.

Two things in our favour,
Scunthorpe have also been in a bit of a mess, albeit not as bad as us.
The feel good factor from the takeover, hopefully will translate to the players.

That said, would be very happy to get a point.

PS   Two years ago today we started the season away at Scunthorpe with a 2-0 win

We will lose, but for once that doesn't concern me - all about fitness, cohesiveness and and building the foundations for the 2nd half of the season.  I will take a good performance and a good blow out for the team at this stage tbh.

Scunny although in a huge financial mess (and still are by comparison to us) but have had a decent pre season with wins vs Wimbledon and Burton and losses to Lincoln and Hull

Their pitch is in apparantly an awful state due to lack of investment in it so is not conducive to on the deck passing.

I think we will lose due to lack of fitness and cohesion/tactical expectation.

A draw would be great, a win absolutely amazing although, at the moment I think both are a bit beyond us, as we get the right players in and get to know each other.

Scunthorpe 1-0 Swindon
att: 4,008 (785 Swindon).

This. Would apply that statement to our next few matches too.

I’ve taken advantage of some generous odds on Scunny so that will soften the blow slightly if we do lose.

I placed a bet on a Scunny win whilst under our old regime. Feel a bit dirty now and hope I lose my money as I deserve too.

I’ve written the first month off as basically pre-season, given that’s how far behind we are in terms of fitness and team cohesion compared to the rest of the league. Anything positive will be a bonus
