Let's just see who we appoint, as let's face it, Quagmire has about as much success with his predictions as Chang Cheesy

How dare you!!! I’ve never been so offended.

Rather him that a managerial merry go round manager whose living off a play off campaign in 2009 whose been sacked by 7 different clubs since.

Not seen a name mentioned yet that fits that label.

Who ever it is has a big job and has to be up for it, its a season of struggle but we have to pick points up where we can, but also the manager needs to be willing to be open and honest to take the fans on the journey with him.

Hopefully the DoF will have good experience in the game, e new manager has to be willing to work with a DoF as well so their roles intertwine.
Not someone like Jewell who was never at the club and who's main role seemed to be a sympathetic ear and scouting but was never at the actual club he stayed up north.

I assume even if they are not announced whoever the chosen ones are in terms of manager and DoF will have been given the nod to crack on behind the scenes at least after yesterdays news?

Do we have any idea who has been lining up the numerous trialists who played in the last couple of games, their must have been someone beyond Mildenhall doing all that?

Do we need a director of football? Seems fashionable these days but I'm not convinced it's necessary and can be counterproductive.

Personally I don't like them much either but if we do, I am sure in a recent interview with Clem he said he was looking at appointing a DoF, which if we have a fairly inexperienced manager like Garner would make sense.

Have we ever actually had a DoF doing a 'real' job, Sherwood only got it as Powers mate, whilst Jewell seemed to rarely actually visit the club so was little more than an address book.

With their links I could see a Garner/Holloway mash up, hopefully with a couple of senior pro's having certain coaching roles. One thing we have lacked for years is succession planning!

Probably because he was appointed by the previous regime and bolted as soon as they discovered what those people were going to do?

He was out of work for a year and still walked.

He was here because of the people in charge not because 'it's Swindon Town' otherwise he'd have stuck around (which I don't blame him for doing).

I think most would have walked under those circumstances as at that time nobody knew if we would still have a club to support so can't really see why his name hasn't been mentioned again as he's done ok in the lower leagues previously.
