The second round of fixtures begins with a frankly fairly middling line up - it's the really fucking cold derby between Russia and Finland, the Animal Kingdom derby between Turkey and Wales and the cheese-off between Italy and Switzerland.

Italy's possession style impressed in the first round of fixtures but will have a different test against Switzerland who defend pretty well and have an excellent goalkeeper.

Italy easily the best team so far. Although it will be interesting to see how much of that was down to opposition - although on paper Turkey shouldn’t have been push overs.

So many teams seem to lack an out and out centre forward. Vital we can get Kane firing on all cylinders because he offers us what a lot of other teams appear to be missing.

If W(B)ales are going to do anything they need Gareth Bale to turn up but quite frankly he looks like someone who is done with football. I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised to see him see out his Madrird contract and retire. Golf, golf golf in that order

Yeah I agree with the Italians being the most impressive so far. Other teams showed in patches what they could do but Italy were good for 90 minutes.

I also agree with DV's statement about the lack of centre forwards. Spain and Germany suffered for it. On the face of it, we look well stocked with Kane and Calvert-Lewin, as well as Rashford who can play up top if really needed.

Wales have a daunting task today in front of 30,000 Turks in Baku. I can see them folding today like a cheap suit.

The bubbles and the Turks hate each other so hardly surprising.

1-0 Putin

Very enjoyable half. Russia would get torn a new one against a good side.

And they will, if they progress.
