Life was more innocent and unassuming back in those days
Was for me, I was only 5 when the 70's ended!

I remember Corona when it was 2d/2p return on the bottle cap!
Pretty certain it was 3d.

Not sure the returns would be that attractive to organised crime (which I suspect was also going on in the 70s).
It was, when we couldn't find any we used to sneak round the back of the local pub, pinch theirs then cash them in at the local shop !!.

I was sure I remembered them as 2d then 2p then 5p then 10p I don't remember them being 3d though. Its a long long time ago though and you could be right mate.

Maybe you were wearing the appropriate coloured glasses JJ, so couldn't see them in 3D.

I can remember the Corona pop wagon coming around and Hubbly Bubbly pop at speedway
Speedway...... Bob Kilby Martin Ashby (Crashby!) David Ashby (Long hair and not as good as his brother) Geoff Bouchard (always last from the tapes but battled through) Steen Mastrup (Always got to headleader status and then suffered a bad crash) Rolf Gramstad (Just started to find his feet then went to Leicester where he got good - before a bad accident) Jan Andersson (Should never have let him go to Reading!) Soren Karlsson (Meh!) Rob Henry (with his tiger suit and tassles!) Leonard Raba (He was awful) Jerzy Trezkowski (He was worse) Wally Mawdsley (Shades, suntan and cream suit!) buying the club and bringing in Phil Crump (Awesome races against Billy Sanders), Steve Gresham (The Lee Power of the Robins!) and the 'R' racejacket

Now you're reminiscing and I spent many a Saturday evening watching league meetings and the Silver Plume at a packed Abbwy stadium

I know Martin Ashby's sons quite well, played football with them for a number of years..

It's great to read the different things from us older posters. Wrexham away was that the infamous special train journey!

Not half! Scrapping on the train before it had even left Swindon station.
And it went downhill from there!
