Samsung Phone Update - now some apps not working

I had a software update last night and now I cannot access Gmail and a few other apps. It opens the Gmail and when I go to select an email it comes back out of the app  saying "Gmail keeps stopping". A few other apps are doing the same. Pissed off. Any ideas?

According to Samsung support for #gmail crashing (still not working):

Remove the Webview Update and then restart the phone by go to:

-settings
-apps
-tap the three dots in the top right corner
-show system apps
-search for Android System WebView
-select Uninstall updates.

I did the play store thingy, there was an update to do. All is now good. The other settings thingy mentioned that data would be lost, so I chickened out.
