All about place betting for me and especially at the big events when surprises can happen and big prices end up in the frame.

Short and sweet from me today  Wink Horse

Here are mine. Good luck all!

Haha, more about compounding for me SM (which is why I bet directly on the place, get better prices for the place rather than say 1/5 or 1/4 of the win odds).

Goshen decide to race a different circuit to most there so messed their chances up and faded. Great run by Honeysuckle though and Epatante fails to win again. Nice money for Sharjah but only the Mullins/Townend die hard backers would've been on that. Goshen definitely fucked up at least being RU there.

Bet still alive but only a couple hundred now if it comes in. Another one losing and I'll have to buy my own chips tonight Cheesy

Well that was generally pretty shite, 4 places, between me and the wife we had no winners at all!

Strange meeting so far, seems to be a lack of depth in many of the races, over the moon for Vintage Clouds even though I thought about backing him and then thought otherwise!

3 wins for me, the first 2 winners (which anyone could have picked out) and then Black Tears pipping the odds on fav.

Shame that 80/1 nag beat out Saint Sam otherwise I’d have been laughing

All downhill from here

I am liking Cheltenham.  Had a £10 with cash back if l I lost on Sky Bet on the 13.20.  Put a tenner on the favourite and bingo!  Couldn't lose, and indeed won a few quid....

Not really a tip as such but the family that own 'Appreciate It' are from the same village my wife is from in Mayo in Ireland. They have 3 horses in total, their second, Sayo is running in the 2.30 today and is 50/1.

Stole a place in 4th after a strong finish. Their last horse is Kilcruit in the 16:50 and that's quite well fancied I think.

I had Kilcruit in my "like a placepot but more money". Decent horse. Toppathamornin' to your wife wife on those selections Smiley

My only racing connections were with Park House Stables nr Newbury. Andrew Balding & Co, nice family and yard. Were always very visible around the village, as was Claire (Clare?!) from time to time. Spent many a time watching on the gallops and would have the brief "hello" with I think David Probert, who has had much success riding for Kingsclere.

Be careful if using the free bet again today, they have changed the rules and you only get your money back if you're selection finishes in the first four.  Paddy Power still offering free £5 bet on ANY race at  Cheltenham this afternoon,  no rule changes.

I see some punter has done a £5 accumulator and the last leg is on Envoi Allen today

Stands to make over £500,000 if it wins or he can cash out now for £275,000.

He’s done a partial cashout now

Leaving him with about £320k if Envoi wins, £270k if the field wins

The guy tweeted this last night. Its not 500k, but i dont think he's going to be annoyed.

So after celebrations last night, 4 hours sleep, an hours walk at 5am I’ve decided to take a partial cash out offer of 300k Envoi / 250k the field. With other bets my position on the race is £322,000 Envoi or £250,000 the field. Thanks to
