https://www.swindontownfc.co.uk/news/2021/february/open-letter-to-supporters/

Thought about just adding this to the Trust thread or the season ticket one, but probably deserves it's own. Letter signed by Steve Anderson, no mention of Power but obviously he's a Power appointee and not known for having his own independent communications.

This is mostly about season tickets for this season & next.

Key things:

- Expect any return of fans to be at reduced capacity
- Not launching season ticket renewals at the current time due to uncertainty
- Want to talk to the Trust and Official Supporters Club about options for existing season ticket holders
- More updates in a few weeks

No mention of our form on the pitch!

Feels like a hastily written response to the Trust's letter to me.

I think that’s the first time we have heard from Anderson in his entire tenure at the club - which must be what, 5 years?

it is, a holding pattern.

But it's a start and better than ignoring it.

shouldn't have taken a letter from the trust mind

7 or 8 - he's been here as long as Power has. https://www.swindontownfc.co.uk/news/2013/december/general-manager-appointed/

Has anyone ever actually seen Steve Anderson?

I remember well the days of Nick Watkins strolling past the half time queue at Digby's Bar, full of purpose but still very approachable. He was one of the good guys.

Call my cynical but they are engaging now they need the supporters money, isn't that the bottom line?

But better than nothing. Although it shouldn't have taken the entire fanbase in open revolt and the prospect of 3-figure season ticket sales to prompt the club to just actually communicate with their (blindly) loyal customers. And only now getting together with Trust/OSC to work out how to deal with current season ticket holders.

Power on the ropes as is STFC which is my biggest concern.
Strap yourself in. The Court case will not go away, smoke and mirrors and simple brinkmanship from Power. The sooner he fucks off taking this incompetent idiot as a Manager we will at least have hit the floor. Until then sadly it will get worse with more scares and threats.
If anything this will force Powers hand one way or another and he will react accordingly showing him in true light.
What a shit show.

Quote from letter:

"Over the coming weeks we will be trying to arrange meetings with the Official Supporters Club and TrustSTFC, to canvas opinion and work together on providing a variety of options for current season ticket holders and how we can thank them for their loyalty and support."

We all know that in any circumstances, not just at STFC, "Over the coming weeks we will try..." is a very weak code for "we will do fuck all any time soon and have no plans whatsoever".  If there was any degree of urgency, which is desparately needed, it would have been a postive response to the Trust letter with date(s) for actions/meetings.

I could of course be proved wrong, but as a student of history methinks not.

It's all a bit Tottenham's mid-2000s "best endeavours" that gave us a much delayed Jamie Slabber loan, that sentence!

"Best endeavours" - indeed a classic line for "don't bother watching this space...".

I have direct report of mine who responds "noted with thanks" when he is going to do fuck all - I like him for that  Cheesy

Notwithstanding - this is a chance for the club to show themselves in a positive light/prove me wrong.  Let's hope...

Fucking hell - it is the hope that kills you, isn't it.
