I'm intrigued.

Able to divulge your whereabouts without risk of deportation?

I'm guessing Georgia/Florida border?

Rob T is located just outside of Atlanta, Georgia - or he was, unless he moved.

Yep, Newnan, Georgia.  Coweta County was about 65% Trump I think, but the next County to me is Fayette, and then Fulton above which were more Democrat.  Peachtree City to my right is only 7 miles away, whereas Downtown Newnan is 4 miles to my East so I'm in a mixed area.  Below Newnan is not very much!  The City still has a Confederate Soldier statue in the main square.

It's actually a very nice place, but you can get a sense of the divide in the Country where I live.

Our Southern border is actually a good 200+ miles away, and "civilization" is pretty sparse between us and Central Florida (Columbus to our South and Savannah to our East, don't look West!!!).  Metro Atlanta to our North is about 60 miles around, similar to a Greater Manchester Area.

My mum and stepdad live in Panama City Florida. Proper weirdo territory around there. I've mentioned it before my they've become proper 'Trumpers' and put some right garbage on social media. One of the reasons I try and avoid it!

Other coast, Bob.

I spent much of the 2000s visiting Mum and stepdad who lived between Wantage and Amelia Island (Florida Georgia border). A little paradise where conservation (nature and history etc) was highly prized by the locals.  Gracious, civilised people. Overwhelmingly white, with Republican leanings.  But Trumpian views also surprised and jarred.

Mum and stepdad had a few black friends, some also very "Christian" but somehow differently.  Most shocking and discomforting for me (as a naive Brit) was to witness how there would be an almost invisible apartheid when they'd hold the occasional drinks party for their varied friends.  No mixing.

Always enjoy the perspective Rob T brings us from across the Pond.  Next, if RobT could bring us a billionaire from Atlanta, even a Red one (especially a Red one!), that would be very handy.

I just want to go back to the time when, as soon as the News came on the TV or radio, the first words you heard were not Donald Fucking Trump...

Is Chump acting as a dictator? He  seems to be signing orders all over the place. What does the Senate and Ho of reps do? Do they  to approve anything? Is the USA still a Democracy? Hmmm

What a fucking scummy gangster Trump is. As predicted he presides over a tanking stock market and now decides to put a hold on tariffs for 90 days. Stock market rockets.

Wonder who had made a killing.

He's going to pay a heavy price for this.  No-one can trust anything he says.  He's making it up as he goes along, hour by hour.  He's not invincible.  No-one is.

I doubt he will pay a price - he's making a few people a fortune and has no worries when it comes to needing to be re-elected.  He's a bit freer than the first term to be honest.  This is stuff he actually believes in as well, which is scary.  I don't know if he is a personally clever enough to play the markets like this, but some people around him would be, and his personal agenda on tariff's and trade (espoused for decades) likely give them a good front man to use.  Stroke the ego sufficiently and it's like stroking a dog I imagine.  The only reason the UK wasn't given the nasty words was because Starmer brought the letter from the King and he some odd thoughts about being Scottish.  We could probably have avoided the tariffs altogether if the King had invited him for a round at St Andrews or Wentworth with him.
