Particularly as assistance from some quarters may result in a change of name and club badge.
Say what now? I'm assuming you have a specific rumour/report in mind. Don't be coy, spill.

Just speculating. If the PL bail out lower league clubs, it strengthens their position on B teams/affiliate clubs. It is not a stretch to suggest that STFC could conceivably be rebranded as Swindon Saints or Southern Counties Seagulls (or some other shitty sounding name).
The trite observation is that these are unprecedented times and I am not offering anything that hasn't been said before in that what we have now could look very different if/when the cash runs out.

TBF naming a stand or even a ground is very different than naming a whole club. The only club that has considered renaming itself in the UK so far has been Hull City, which has been refused by the FA. I don't forsee that changing any time soon. But thats just my personal opinion.

Cardiff changed their shirt colour (for a couple of seasons) and nearly became the Cardiff Dragons. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/21604568If we were to change our name, what would you like it to be? The Swindon Spartans has a nice ring to it, but sounds like a 9th tier team.
