Yes, that sounds familiar. And didn't he also nearly cut a toe off mowing the lawn?
Needed to be kept straitjacketed when not playing, that one.
I think Igoes other home injury was glueing his eye shut

Not forgetting we also beat them 1-0 in Turin. That 4-0 at the CG was brilliant - wish I could remember it in more detail. Not much in the way of pics. Just this one of Rod Thomas with a packed TE in the background

I’d just turned 15. Tbh, I think the tournament was thought of as a series of friendlies. Competitive wasn’t the word for it, though. All out war nearer the truth.
For those not around, it’s hard to explain what a cracking side we had then.

I also went to the 4-0 win - my only memory of the game (apart from the score and that we dominated them) is of Stan Harland scoring the 4th goal (memorable as he didn’t score many) with a shot from outside the penalty area at the Stratton Bank end. We had a very good side at that time, but with hindsight, some of the Italian teams may not have been quite at full strength as 1970 was of course a World Cup year - Italy being beaten finalists in Mexico.

I need some help with a lockdown quiz please.
There was a post back in November when we became first team to beat all other current PL & FL clubs in a competitive match when we beat Salford, but does anyone who what competitive means. Does it include Micky Mouse cups or just league, FA & league cups?

When I researched the stat, I only used league, fa cup and league cup.
