I read something that said that dogs should be kept on a lead if anyone in the house has symptoms.
Why? It doesn't transmit dog->human or human->dog? Sounds like someone just making up rules for the sake of it.

The only thing I could think of is if a human has the virus and could transmit it to another human via the collar on the dog? I.e the dog not on a lead could run away to another human that might then get into contact with that dog's collar?

The dog could be an infected surface.

Hmm, sounds tenuous. You shouldn't be grabbing a strange dog by the collar anyway. Like I say, sounds like someone just making rules up for the sake of it

I am merely the messenger. It was on the BBC. We don't usually see many people out when we walk the dog aym so I let him run around.

I didn't mean really by grabbing the collar, a lot of people are very affectionate to dogs and so 'say hello' by going down to the face rubbing the neck etc.

I'm re-learning basic French, using a free site Duolongo . It's something to keep the brain active, or so it is said.
