Welcome Batchman. TBF there haven't been that many songs that a. Swindon fans wrote without just copying other teams songs, or b. That have caught on with other Town fans for singing together. This season is the first season in a few years that we have actually had songs (albeit not original) that have been sung for individual players, the songs for Doyle and Isgrove spring to mind. Its great to hear our fans singing songs about players rather than just the team, and sung very well by a large amount of the fans too.

I do remember back in 84 the Town End sang a song to the tune of the (then popluar) "Frog Chorus - we all stand together" by Paul McCartney.
Win or lose, sink or swim we are the Swindon and we never win, side by side hand in hand we all stand together....

I made up a song about McNamee to the tune of let it be once, and then someone’s girlfriend from Off here (can’t remember who) came up to me in Morrison’s where I worked at the time and told me they liked it

I heard that Robert Maxwell went to Rome to see the Pope I heard that Robert Maxwell went to Rome to see the Pope I heard that Robert Maxwell went to Rome to see the Pope I heard that Robert Maxwell went to Rome to see the Pope And this is what he said Who the fuck are Oxford United Who the fuck are Oxford United Who the fuck are Oxford United And the reds go marching on, on on
Etc
It came from the Pope JP2 was the pope and he was a Liverpool fan and Man Utd fans sang it.
"The famous Man Utd went to Rome to see the Pope" etc
I guess it allowed for multiple endings. My version had after And this is what he said: Who's that team they call the Swindon Who's that team they call the Town They're the boys in red and white And they're fucking dynamite Especially when the Oxford are around. SirWindon, SirWindon etc.

Out of all the songs I've heard us sing, I think the 'left side over here' has to be the most pointless piece of shit I've heard.
When this was in its early days (I think), my mate and I were stood at the back of the terracing at Peterborough and tried to get people to join in with 'We're the backside...' but it never really took off.

Strange, Flash's backside takes off most weeks in the Town End.

I still get shivers down my spine recalling the Town End roaring ‘Hark now hear the Swindon sing, the Arsenal ran away, and we will fight for ever more, because of last Tuesday” during those heady months of (particularly cup) heroism before it all fell apart in the ‘79/‘80 season. I was a young lad sat in the wooden old stand and loved the terrace version of what I knew as the, oft aired on radio, Boney M single. I like rapidly thought up cover versions of pop songs on the terraces and was impressed in the early 90’s when a chum sang Colin Calderwood’s name to the tune of The Shamen’s drug anthem‘ ‘Ebeneezer Goode’. I don’t recall it really catching on though...the terrace chant that is... ecstasy became quite a hit. Very moreish. Also have a memory of a bloke called Dale in the Macari era, consistently corrupting the climactic words of the “Oh, Swindon Town is wonderful” chant to “...it’s full of tits and a fanny called Macari!”

Remembér being pissed after that QPR last game of the PL season and back to the Pride of Paddington.
There were a few of us ‘singing’
‘If you can’t stay up, then we’re going down’. No particular tune but lots of hand action and hip swivelling as if attempting the limbo. Getting snapped by foreign tourists, mainly Japanese IIRC. ‘Ah! Soccel Hoorigans’
