I enjoyed the game on Saturday. I thought for the first 35 minutes that was some of the best football I have seen a Swindon side play at the CG in years (caveat, the bar isn't that high). Our pace, movement and slick passing was a joy to watch and Mansfield couldn't live with us. We faded a little bit towards the end of the first half - Caddis looked spent! and but for Maynard's sloppy finishing we would have gone into half time level, whereas we really should have been at last 2 goals ahead. Doyle showing Maynard how it should be done expertly turning in Woolery's mishit shot after a fast break involving Grant and Hunt down the left.
Second Half Mansfield seemed to change things and start to play to their strengths playing long to Cook, who was simply too strong for Fryers making it very easy for him to play as the target man. Benda's superb close range stop from Cook kept us in it and Wellens made a very clever change bringing Broadbent on which meant we had a physical presence that could challenge against Cook. Mansfield still had a couple of chances, on another day Maynard would have had at least 2 goals but his radar was off thankfully and we were able to see out the win despite keystone cops like last ditch defending to kill off the game, i thought Rose in particular was not very composed causing panic amongst the rest of the side.
There wasn't a weak link in the side on Saturday, it didn't quite happen for Woollery but he's a willing runner and seems to get involved in the physical stuff a bit more, winning flick ons etc. I am staggered Caddis played 90 minutes but he was very good on his return and Hunt didn't look out of place at Left Back at all. If we do sign Donohue we have good options down the flanks. Yates worked his bollocks off as always and Doyle and Grant continue to show their excellence. Its currently an exciting time to be a Swindon fan.

As has already been mentioned kudos to Wellens with the Broadbent substitution. From half time until the change it looked more a matter of not if but when would Mansfield score. They didn’t get a clear chance post change

Did we change shape to 3 CBs when Broadbent came on?

Can someone please share all the words for the "Ginger Pelle" song?
My 85 year old grandad was joining in but neither him or I could work out all of the words. Bad hearing/unable to make out words is a common trait in the family soapy tit wank so would appreciate a song sheet if possible haha.
