I can play this game, I think.  If we win our next game we will have made at least as good a start after 11 as any season post 2000 where we ended up in the play offs or better.

Here's the classic 10th game 4-1 at Eastville.... proper 80's football.

http://www.swindon-town-fc.co.uk/MatchCentre.asp?MatchID=19820110

Rovers fans were out in the streets, armed with CB radios, which became legal in 81 having been used illegally up til then.

Sexy stuff, idiot yokels telling each other where the Swindon fans were. Although in those days there was a code that you only engaged with like minded types, of which we had plenty.

That was my last trip to Eastville, I do still get a pang of regret when passing the site now IKEA on the M32

Think I spotted an ‘Invacar’ in the corner. They seemed to breed like triffids at football stadia back in the day!

State of that pitch after 5 home games. What was it like the following March?

I stayed on after that game for the dogs, I think.

Thats blatently not true!

When he was at Barnsley his height was on record as 1.73m which is 5 foot 6 and a half.

The Wiki 1.78m is wrong.

I have seen him lined up with the other players before KO and he barely comes up to Conroys chest and hes only 6 foot 2, quite small by lower league CB's.
