Looks like being my yearly opportunity to see my heroes in action.....
Assume there is going to be the option to pay on the day!

I was very close to seeing the game there last season, the first match of the season I was in Cumbria driving to Fort William so actually got to listen to the whole game live on t'raio in the car. I doubt we will take more than our usual 300 (yes more went for the first game of the season last year I know) so I can't see them not having POTD tbh.

I would have made it last year, but similarly it fell on the day we were going on holiday so like you I drove past Carlisle but missed the match. I know I went about 6 years back and it was POTD, we had blocks in that silly stand which hangs off the end of the pitch and most of the Town fans missed a lot of the game as the M6 was snarled up!

£3 surcharge for potd.
Yesterday, I idly wondered how much a train ticket to Carlisle might be for Saturday.... to be told by Trainline, no tickets available for that journey.

I half thought about it but decided Stevenage on the following Tuesday would be my last away trip.

A dilemma.... think I'd have gone for Carlisle on a Sat, rather than Stevenage on a Tuiesday, for such a historic thing.

Saw that, certainly takes the gloss off..... especially as it looks like he'll win.

They seem to be OK on Virgin Trains

£144.60 but strangely tickets seem available for very few trains?

Trainline says no trains available for me too Swindon to Carlisle, leaving early and returning after 5.

That's odd. Trainline still saying that but the National Rail site comes up with an option for £95-45 (with a railcard) or £144-60 (without) getting there at 2 o'clock and back at half past 11! Won't be taking up their offer!

If you buy seperate tickets you can do -
07.12 Swindon to Paddington £21 (£13.85 railcard) 10.30 Euston to Carlisle £46 (£30.35 railcard)
17.52 Carlisle to Euston £30 (£19.80 railcard) 22.35 Paddington to Swindon £21 (£13.85 railcard)
a total of £118 + underground tickets or £77.85 with a railcard .

The way to go would be up to New Street, which is direct to Carlisle... would be about 60 odd with railcard. What happened to WB's direct train from Swindon to New Street
