Just bought a new TV - nothing flash, just a 43" Sony 4K.
Are sound bars worth the money and do they enhance the 'experience'?

The sound on most TV's is shit - so yeah definitely worth it if that's your thing. I got one a few years ago - LG one. Not the best but the sound is decent, and the wireless subwoofer with it is pretty damn powerful

I've wondered the same. I looked at the Sonos and they're £600+
However, I live in a two bed house and the sound think a sound bar would be OTT until I moved to a bigger place.

The TV was 'only' £850 so spending over half as much again on a sound bar seems a bit much.

Well, looking at all the £1000 and upwards TVs in there it was a 'humble' one.

Got a Bose one. Well worth it.
No issues with making out the mumbling on BBC dramas!

I find them a bit bass heavy with little mid range and the surround sound with subtitles is terrible.
