I have an issue with my upstairs hot water tap, the flow of water is very poor and when it gets warm to hot the water stops coming you can turn the tap full on and nothing will come out.

Not sure if this is something easy to fix or do I need to get a plumber in to look at it ?

We had something similar as the tap got harder and harder to turn and the flow stooped, transpired
the valve bit was just full of limescale and shit.

If you are confident enough, with ours it was just a case of removing the tap handle, then unscrewing the tap valve from the base unit with an adjustable spanner, once it was out you could keep screwing the valve as if turning it off and eventually the plunger dropped out the bottom of the valve, deep clean and a squirt of WD40 reverse the process to reassemble and it was fine thereafter.

However it the above doesn't make sense I would call a plumber as my instructions are notoriously shit!

Oh and don't forget to turn the water off!
